Love Never Leaves-Chapter 2

It had a been a couple of days since Helena’s dinner party and she still hadn’t seen much of her new neighbor. He kept odd hours and she hadn’t seen anyone visit him. She was in the office she had built in the back of her house working with a previous client on a new project. She enjoyed the freedom and flexibility being a graphic designer under contract. She hadn’t worked as a salaried employee in 5 years and it was great. She had clients all over the Pacific Northwest and few throughout the country but she liked working for folks closer to home. Her business did graphic design for books, magazines, and web content. It was Goddess Graphic, Peggy had suggested it from her nickname. Helena loved it and it had been growing. She had a part time assistant now and had designed and built an office in the backyard. She wanted to seem more professional and not have clients traipsing through her home.

She was meeting Logan Gilchrist, he was young, but smart and had his own hip magazine, Sea-town Trends. Helena wasn’t hip anymore but she could still fill the bill for his request for their upcoming issue. He was cute in a little boy kind of way, blonde hair all streaked and poking up in different spots. He was in good shape but very casual as most young people were in Seattle. He was bouncing ideas off of Helena when she heard a slightly familiar voice.

‘Excuse me,’ it said from the doorway of her office. He was knocking very lightly as he said it.

It was her neighbor, he looked rough, like he was rode hard and put away wet but surprisingly as haggard as he looked he was still handsome.

Helena got up from the table where she and Logan were sitting.

‘Yes, hello. Can I help you?’

‘Umm I’m your neighbor from across the street.’

Helena nodded ‘yes I know,’ she said flatly. She hadn’t forgot how rude he’d been to her a few days ago and she was not going give that a pass.

‘Uh…I was wondering if you have some laundry detergent. I’m trying to get things set up and I can’t find mine and I don’t want to go to the store, you know.’

Helena’s eyes narrowed a bit and he seemed to notice her annoyance. He knew he needed to apologize for the other night and this was the only way he figured he could do it.

‘Sure, I do it’s in my house. Follow me in and I’ll get it for you.’ She turned to Logan and said ‘will you excuse me for a moment?’

‘Oh yea sure, take your time. I’ll just be looking at what you sketched up here.’

She walked toward the office door and he moved to the side to let her pass. She turned to look at him as if to say, follow me and he nodded in acknowledgement and fell in behind her. He watched as she walked, it was mesmerizing he felt like he was going into a trance. She had on a skirt that showed her perfect shape and pair of stilettos. He was shocked she got so dressed up just to sit out in an office in her backyard. But she walked like she was everything and knew it. Her watched as her ass as it switched from side to side, she did have a nice butt. He’d dated a black chick in college. Her body was dynamite and he remembered that. He shouldn’t be thinking like this he admonished himself. He shouldn’t be thinking of any other woman but her, not this woman, not this Helena McDermott she wasn’t what he wanted. At least he thought she wasn’t.

Helena turned as she got to her back door, he was staring at her almost mesmerized. The look caught her off guard because he wasn’t trying to conceal it. When his eyes met hers, he blinked and straightened up. She opened the door and invited him in.

‘I’ll be happy to help you…uh what is your name?’ She turned and smirked at him since he’d been so nasty the other night she hadn’t even got a name.

He looked embarrassed then as he should have.

‘Umm it’s Jacob Galanos but my friends call me Jake.’

‘Well Mr. Galanos, I’ll put some detergent in a Tupperware and you can take it home.’

‘Oh I’d wish you’d call me Jake.’

Helena looked at him curiously, she just couldn’t figure this guy out. The other night he had the manners of a jackal today he’s Mr. Rogers scraggly twin.

‘Okay if that’s what you want.’

Helena took a disposable plastic container and filled it with detergent and handed it to him. As she did their fingers brushed, she felt a spark and as she looked she saw his eyes searching hers in a knowing way, he’d felt it too. She pulled her hand back and gave a weak smile. She needed him out of her now.

‘Is there anything else I can do for you?’

‘Yea, will you have dinner with me?’

‘What, Mr. Galanos?…I’m sorry I mean Jake.’

‘Dinner. You do eat?’

She looked at him completely confused by this sudden change of heart.

‘Well, yes but…’

‘Oh I’m really dumb, you got a boyfriend or husband?’

She was still eyeing him cautiously, ‘well no I don’t but the other night when my friend and I came over you didn’t seem eager for company.’

Jake blushed embarrassed because he knew he’d been wretched to her and her friend the other night and he just wanted to make it up to her. Yes, that was this would be just a nice gesture.

‘I’m sorry for my rudeness that wasn’t due to you I’d just gotten some bad news and didn’t really feel like being bothered. I can take you to dinner to make up for it.’ Jake knew that story was a complete lie but it was better than telling her the other story, the one where he was drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels trying to forget his heartache over his wife and son’s death.

‘Okay, I guess that would be okay.’

‘Good. I’ve roamed the neighbor and there’s a great little Italian place within walking distance, The Green Olive. Have you heard of it?’

Helena knew The Green Olive well, he had pretty good taste in restaurants.

‘Yes, I know it. It’s a good place.’

‘Okay, then how about this evening at 7 or so?’

Helena smiled and said ‘sure. Seven sounds great but I gotta get back to my client now.’

‘Oh yea I’m keeping you from your work. Sorry and thank you again,’ he said as he held up the detergent he borrowed.

‘You’re very welcome. Jake.’

white-guy-and-black-woman-300x214He smiled and left. As the back door closed, Helena wondered why she’d agreed to go out with him tonight especially with such rude behavior a few days ago. She was sure he felt the sparks between them as their fingers touched, it was pure electricity. She couldn’t help but feel a little nervous about being this attracted to an absolute stranger. She hadn’t been with anyone in the biblical sense since Scott’s death but something about Jake had her thinking if she could be, he’d probably be the one.

Jake was in his bathroom brushing his teeth, he was a nervous wreck. He hadn’t been this giddy…well since Connie. He stopped for a moment and thought of her sweet face and a tear came to his eye. He knew she’d want him to go on with his life but he hadn’t felt much like living since he’d lost her and little Dylan. Not until now, not until this goddess out of a dream rang his doorbell. He’d been shocked when he heard it and more shocked when he opened the door to find smooth cocoa skin, deep dark beautiful eyes and full luscious lips staring back at him with a body built for sin. He was absolutely awestruck and also at that moment he felt overwhelming guilt like he was betraying the memory of his family by lusting after a stranger. He wasn’t sure he should do this but he couldn’t help it. He hadn’t stopped loving Connie or Dylan but he couldn’t let his life come to a standstill. He’d decided to go casual, jeans, t-shirt and nice sweater. It was Spring and was actually rather warm tonight here in Seattle. He’d put on a pair of tennis shoes and looked at himself in the mirror. He touched his chin, he’d been pondering shaving his beard but it was too late now he’d have to think about that later.

Helena set on her sofa trying to sneak peeks from behind the curtain, it was almost 7pm but she’d been ready since 6:30 she never remembered being this nervous about seeing someone. Not even Scott, she couldn’t figure out why she felt so much like making a good impression on Jake. He certainly had not made a good one on her but today in her kitchen he seemed so sweet, vulnerable and sincere. Something about him had drawn her to him. She didn’t know what his story was but she knew something about it was tragic. She really should avoid guys like him but not only was drawn to his vulnerability she was drawn to his male beauty. Although sadness shown in his eyes, there was also a mischievous twinkle in those sea green orbs too.

Lost in thoughts of his handsome face she didn’t hear the doorbell ring. Helena shook herself from her fantasies of him and looked out the window to see him standing in the porch with flowers in his hand. He looked adorable, jeans, converse tennis shoes, t-shirt and sweater. He was a bit of a conundrum but it wasn’t as if she wasn’t curious to solve it. Ah her curiosity, it always got her into trouble. She got off the sofa and headed for the door to greet trouble.

Jake was standing there trying to be calm about the circumstance, he wasn’t sure if he was doing the right thing, he didn’t want to hurt anyone or be hurt but his vexing neighbor made him want to take the risk. He hadn’t risked anything in a long time and the act made him feel alive. Helena opened the door with a bright smile on her face, she looked beautiful, her dark skin glowing in the evening sun. She was an absolute goddess her eyes were bright and curious, she looked so sweet, he couldn’t help but be drawn to her.

Helena had decided to wear a floral dress with blue, yellow, and hot pink throughout she’d bought recently, she was waiting for summer to wear it but it was surprisingly balmy spring night in Seattle. She had on a Mary Jane shoes in blue and hot pink wrap, all matching the colorful dress. She wanted to look girly, she’d also put on some dangle hot pink earrings and lots of bracelets and bangles. He probably heard her coming from a mile away. But she didn’t care, tonight she wanted to wanton and frilly. She’d just been working hard since Scott had passed, no real fun, no real interest in any man she’d met but there was something about Jake.

‘Hello,’ he told her. His smile was tentative but eventually it widened. Helena thought he had the most beautiful smile, she hadn’t seen much of it but she wanted to see it more.

‘Hi there,’ she blushed a little not that he’d be able to notice but she felt like giggling.

He was looking at her in awe and longing, it was starting to make Helena heat up. A heat she hadn’t felt a long while.

‘Oh these are for you,’ he presented her with the most beautiful boutique of Gerber daisies. She loved those.

‘Well thank you, I should probably put these in water,’ she turned and headed to the kitchen to get a vase and set them in water. When she returned he was still standing in the open doorway. ‘You could have stepped in, Jake. I don’t bite.’

He smiled again sort of embarrassed, ‘it’s okay I was fine. You ready to get going?’

‘Yea I’m ready, I’ve been looking forward to this all day.’

‘So have I,’ he said, ‘so have I.’

Remembering Your Heart-Chapter 4

WARNING: This contains explicit sexual content.

Fotolia_2857598_M FIREMona felt achy, she was completely worn out by her night of lovely bliss with Luke. She was covered with a sheet at her stomach, she blinked slightly at the sunlight, she’d forgotten to close her blinds and the morning sun was streaming in. She turned to see the clock it was 10:30 am. She could hear the quiet snoring of a very sexy bed mate. She turned toward him, he was on his stomach face turned from hers, out cold on top of her comforter. He was a welcome sight for her tired eyes. All she saw was muscular back ripples and an ass you could have bounced a quarter off, he was truly blessed everywhere it seemed.

They’d stayed up most of the night making love, he was definitely Italian his sexual appetite was insatiable. Mona finally had to beg for mercy, she’d had multiple orgasms in a few positions and she couldn’t take anymore. But she figured she better get ready because he’d told her before they fell asleep that he really enjoyed sex in the morning. He seemed to not to find it too bad at night either. He stirred and turned to lie on his back. Mona peeked up again as he continued to snore quietly, she was amazed he could sleep on his stomach when his cock was at full mast already. She shuddered just thinking of their amazing loving from last night, her body began to react to the sight, smell and thought of having him enter her again. She became slick, she wanted him badly maybe she had a thing for morning sex too. She thought if only she could climb aboard and ride that monster he called a dick it would be a great morning. But she also knew she had morning breath, maybe she’d slide out of bed and brush her teeth quickly. She turned her body to rise from the bed and felt Luke stir again, she suddenly felt his large arm wrap around her middle and dragged her back. His hard front was against her soft back as he whispered in and kissed her ear.

‘Where are you going?’

Mona could barely remember now that he was kissing her earlobe, ah yes the bathroom. ‘I’m on my way to bathroom. I recalled you like sex in the morning and my breath isn’t that welcoming.’

Luke raised his head and attempted to kiss her, Mona moved her head so he couldn’t.

‘No, Luke I’m not in kissable form.’

‘You are always in kissable form to me, now kiss me and then I’m going to love you this morning and make sure you remember me, bella.’

She turned her body to face him, ‘I’m never going to forget you, you can count on that.’

Luke kissed her her deeply as he eased his hand between their bodies and made sure she’s ready for him.

Luke arrived back to his condo after spending the morning and afternoon with the luscious Mona, he was spent but happy. He knew he loved her more than he’d thought he could love a woman. She was loving, generous, funny, sexy, smart and beautiful, there was nothing on this earth like her. Which scared him to death because he knew what he had to tell her, it terrified him but it had to be done. Luke wished he could change his past but he couldn’t and now it was threatening his present. He needed to tell her the truth, he couldn’t build a relationship this deep on deception. He promised himself he’d do it soon, very soon.

He stepped into the door to find Brady sitting on the couch playing on that XBox.

He looked up for a moment to greet him, ‘hey Dad, what’s up?’

‘Nothing. Is this what you’ve been doing all day son, exercising your thumbs?’

‘No dad I just got back.’

‘Back from where, the gym?’

Luke was standing there looking at him waiting for the remainder of an explanation.

‘Where you been, dad?’ Brady asked through a half-chuckle.

‘Taking care of my business. Now where have YOU been today?’

‘Why should I tell you, you haven’t told me anything. I mean aren’t we friends, dad? Isn’t that what you said we’d be when I moved out here? We’d be friends. Huh? What’s up with that?’

‘Yes it was but some things even friends don’t share,’ Luke came over to sit next to his son.

‘Oh so it’s like that, I have to tell. You don’t. Maybe I feel the same way you feel.’

‘Okay enough of this Brady, I’m pulling rank. I’m your father, so tell me where you’ve been. Then maybe I’ll tell you something.’ Luke was getting nervous Brady had never been secretive with him but being away from him so long had caused a strain in their relationship. He knew he had to build trust again but he was still his dad.

Brady started to laugh and stopped his game to turn to look at his dad, ‘no biggie pop, I was at lunch with Amber.’

Luke raised from his relaxed position on the sofa, ‘what? You two had lunch today?’

‘Well yea, I figured she wanted to eat before I dropped her off,’ Brady picked up the game control and started in again.

Luke’s eyebrows furrowed, he was confused, ‘dropped her where? You picked her up from her house, you guys had lunch, and you dropped her somewhere?’

Brady looked over at his dad like he had two heads, ‘no pop, she spent the night, we got up, went out for lunch and I dropped her home.’

Luke leaped up from the couch, ‘WHAT THE FUCK? She what? You two didn’t spend the night here together did you?’

His son sighed, ‘yea she did, Dad I thought I’d had too much to drink. I didn’t want to endanger her or wreck your ride. So she just stayed.’ He was giving the most innocent look he could muster. ‘We didn’t have sex, she’s not even my type.’

Luke smirked at that sentiment, ‘really, you expect me to believe that son.’

Brady had tried to kiss her but she rebuffed him pointedly, he didn’t try again. He figured there was no need to tell his dad about it.

‘Yea, she’s not. You know how I like ’em dad.’

‘Yea blonde and dumb.’ Brady looked as if his feelings were hurt, ‘I’m sorry son, I didn’t mean that but you’ve got to know that was not a good idea.’

Luke knew about Amber’s mother, Georgina and her utter contempt for white men. This could really spell disaster for him. But he had to give his son props at least he didn’t try drive her home while he was drunk.

‘Brady, I’m glad you didn’t drive drunk.’

‘Well. At least I get credit for that, geez,’ he says sarcastically.

‘But son, you don’t understand this may get Amber into trouble.’

‘Oh yea, dad, I do understand, Amber told me about her mom. When I dropped her off I went in and everything and introduced myself to her mom. She seemed cool.’

Luke was standing there with his head back, eyes closed and sighing. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He pulled it out and there was Mona’s smiling face, she was calling. He hoped it was to say what a great time she’d had last night, this morning and this afternoon. He headed for the kitchen to get some privacy and left Brady to work his thumbs on that damn machine.

He sat at a barstool by the kitchen counter and answered, ‘hey bella, how are you mi amor?’

‘Don’t mi amor me. What the hell was your son thinking dropping my niece off this afternoon? Georgie was just on the phone calling me every name but a child of god, my ear is hot.’

‘Bella, bella it’s not that big of a deal you know how kids are?’

‘No I don’t, I don’t have kids. How are they? Because if they’re like this I don’t know if I want any.’

‘Bella, calm down. I just talked to him. They didn’t do anything.’

‘Oh you talking sexual?! Oh I know that my niece has more sense than to just fall into bed with any old boy that sweet talks her.’

Luke was getting a little insulted, ‘excuse me, but my son was raised as a gentlemen.’

‘No gentlemen keeps a young lady out all night.’

‘Actually she had a hand in this too, bella.’

Mona saw red, ‘I know you’re not calling my niece a slut.’

‘I said no such thing, don’t put words into my mouth. Brady felt like he’d had too much to drink to take Amber home so they stayed here. I think that was very mature.’

‘Oh sure, that old excuse. Georgie is screaming at me about putting my niece in harm’s way. She’s blaming me for almost getting her child raped by a white boy. What am I supposed to do? She’s absolutely livid at me.’

‘Well first, I’d suggest you both calm the hell down. My son is not a rapist, I taught him to respect women like his father and grandfather before him or have you forgotten?’

Luke turned to see Brady standing at the kitchen door mouthing the word ‘rape’ and throwing his hands in the air up in the ‘I give up’ sign. He just turned and left as Luke and Mona kept arguing.

Brady went to his room and turned on his computer to crank some music. Rape. Who did people think he was, he’d never hurt a girl like that, one of his girl friends from school had been raped by a guy they knew. Brady had tried to beat the guy senseless but they got him arrested, he wasn’t even convicted just a slap on the wrist because they were on a date. His friend, Erica had been blamed for the whole thing. Her family moved away it had been so tragic. He’d never do that to any girl, especially not Amber. He’d never been into black chicks but when he’d seen her last night standing in Mona’s living room he was mesmerized. She was it, he wanted to grab her and kiss her then. That gorgeous smile, those big brown eyes, she had a killer body, he hadn’t been into black girls but he certainly was now. At the show last night he’d tried to kiss her figuring his charms would work like they had on other girls but, no she was not having it. Brady was a tad surprised at her rejection, he didn’t get rejected a lot but wasn’t mad maybe he needed to prove himself. Yea, that’s what it was, he needed to prove himself to Amber. He liked her, he was hoping she felt the same about him. But with the argument going on between his dad and Mona…maybe this was doomed before it even began. ‘Crap,’ he said to himself and put his earphones on and laid back in the bed.

Amber was sitting in her backyard, swinging on the old wooden swing her dad had put up for her as a kid. She was a daddy’s girl but he was out of town on business, she could hear her mama screaming about what she’d done today to him on the phone. Amber wasn’t sure what had gotten into her, she just felt like defying her mother. So she’d called her last night and told her she’d be staying with Aunt Mo, she knew she was lying when she did it but she did. It had been a very interesting night with Brady, Amber knew as soon as she saw him that was hot. She was sort of shocked how hot, but she should have know because Luke was good-looking that the apple wouldn’t fall far from the tree. Although she was physically attracted to him, some of the stuff he did was just stuff a dumb dude would do. He’d try to kiss her and she wasn’t remotely doing anything for him to think he could or should. She figured back in New York the girls were lined up. Well, not here in the Pacific Northwest, at least not her. She wasn’t sure he was enough for all this trouble but she was kind of glad her mother almost had a heart attack, Amber almost laughed but she was sure that would have gotten her a smack. Her mama was totally wide-eyed as she introduced her to Brady, her mother was good at putting up a front she did that all the time. She did that when speaking to Brady but Amber could tell she could hardly contain her contempt. She hated to do that Brady, she’d have to apologize to him and Aunt Mo her mom had gone completely crazy accusing her Aunt of all kinds of crazy things. She’d be upset with her but she was sure she’d find it funny in a way too. Oh well, she just decided to swing in the breeze and enjoy the day.

He had hung up with Mona, he’d have a lot to talk about with his son and his lack common sense but I think he already knew that. He’d told Mona that he’d be by tonight to take her to dinner. He wasn’t sure what he apologizing for, he hadn’t done anything but it happened that way sometimes. But he also knew he had to talk to her about what he’d figured out too, that their pasts had converged in a significant way that she was unaware of it. He wasn’t ready but he needed to reveal this to her.

Luke looked at his son and sighed, ‘yes, Brady.’

‘I’m sorry dad, I heard you talking to Mona. I mean she’s wrong and there’s really not a reason for her to freak like that.’

Luke was frustrated with Brady’s attitude, ‘Brady, you need to stop talking. You’ve fucked up enough. Now I have to straighten this out with Mona. And you will be apologizing to her.’

Brady opened his mouth to say something but had second thoughts as he looked at his father’s furrowed brow.

‘Yes sir.’

Luke left Brady standing in the kitchen as he headed to his bathroom so he could get a shower and change his clothes.

Luke was pulling up to Mona’s house, he saw her looking out of the window. He hopped out of the Jag and jogged to the step. She opened the door before he knocked.

‘Hello there,’ she said. Mona had been waiting, she’d been really upset when her sister called screaming at her about Amber and Brady but after she thought about it they were both adults responsible for themselves. ‘I’m sorry about today.’

Luke swept her into his arms and kissed her deeply as he lifted her up. Mona pulled back, they needed to get into the house she had no interest in putting up a porno for her neighbors.

‘We better go in.’

Luke looked around and said, ‘I think you’re right.’

He carried her into the house and shut the door with his foot, he continued to kiss and caress Mona. His hands making there way down her back to cup her buttocks. Mona wrapped her legs around Luke’s muscular back. He was so solid and seriously sexy. She’d forgotten all about being upset with Luke and was dying to have his throbbing cock buried deep inside her.

They unlocked lips for a moment. ‘Luke, I’m dying here. Enough with the foreplay, can we can down to some loving. I want it bad, big daddy.’

Luke smiled slyly, ‘well you little sex kitten, you. Bella I have no wish to make you wait a moment longer.’

She was wearing a sundress so Luke reached under so he could feel some of the silky flesh. As he reached under he discovered a surprise, Mona wasn’t wearing any panties.

Mona smiled coyly at her lover. Luke eyes were showing shock and growing lust.

‘Why I’m surprised at you Mona, you’ve decided to be naughty. When did this happen?’

‘It happened before you got here, I was ready, feeling slick and ready to be loved. Why not make it easy for you.’

‘Thank you, I will indulge.’

Mona could feel his large hands massage the backs of her upper thighs. He has long fingers and he used those to enter her slick entrance as he did Luke saw her head loll back and eyes close in pleasure. He enjoyed that look, he loved bringing her pleasure.

‘You like that, don’t you?’

Mona gave a sexy smile and looked at him with half-hooded lids. His long fingers felt so good going deep into her tightness. Mona didn’t realize how a hand could bring so much pleasure. Luke’s three digits buried deep in those folds and he loved it, he wanted so badly to take them out and lick her sweetness. But he wanted to see her come in his arms, he wanted to watch the wave of pure eroticism fall over her beautiful face. It felt so delicious to Mona her head was almost spinning, she wanted to cry out but couldn’t think straight enough to form the words.

She held onto Luke’s shoulders tightly as he pumped his fingers in and out of her. She saw him smiling wickedly, she could see all the love in his eyes and for a moment it frightened her but she let go and enjoyed it. He was speaking to her in Italian again, she liked his habit of doing so when they came together. She could feel her body riding his hand as her sweet essence was dripping but she didn’t care all she wanted to do was find release in his arms. Luke could hear her moaning low in his ear, his cock was hard and ready to burst through the zipper of his jeans. He moved his thumb to her clit, he’d make her come faster and more intensely than she ever had.

Mona felt his thumb sweep lightly on her clit, then he moved in more steady and hit the mark. It felt so good, Mona knew her orgasm was going to come quickly and with a thrust of power but she wasn’t quite ready for what happened to her. Suddenly his finger thrust in and hit her g-spot as he rub her clit in the perfect motion. She almost jumped out of his grasp but Luke held on tight as Mona’s orgasm hit her like a load of bricks, she couldn’t stop shivering it was the most pleasurable thing she’d felt in a long time. Her breathing was shallow and deep, at one moment she was sure she’d stopped breathing altogether. The man was talented, she kissed him deeply and their tongues meet and dueled for supremacy as their lips caressed. She was coming off her cloud of heavenly sensations. Luke had removed his fingers slowly from her entrance as he lightly fingered the folds of her vagina. She was still feeling quite sensitive in that area and his touch brought small erotic sparks to her body. She looked at him and smiled.

‘You are one hell of a lover, Mr. Serrano.’

‘Bella, for you I’d do anything because you’re special.’ He removed his fingers and they were coated in the juices of his lady love. He was dying to taste her again. Luke took one and began to like it clean, oh he was enchanted with her flavor, sweet and musky.

Mona was staring as he licked his fingers of her sweetness. It was such a turn on.

As he took the finger from his lips he told her, ‘you are the most delicious woman ever. Go ahead taste yourself.’ He offered her one of his coated fingers.

Mona wasn’t sure what to do but she decided to go for it, her senses were overwhelmed in the afterglow. She tentatively took one of his fingers and stuck out her tongue to lick and suck it. Luke watched absolutely hypnotized, she was incredibly sexy and as she licked her own essence she smiled and closed her eyes looking as though she was enjoying the whole experience immensely. His dick couldn’t take it much longer, he had to be inside her, he had to be inside her this minute.

‘Bella, I have to have you. I must right this minute.’ He made broad steps to get to her couch. Mona was kissing him and caressing his face.

Into her lips he moaned, ‘now, right on this couch, I want you, bella, oh I’m aching.’

Mona told him through passion haze, ‘yes, Luke, I need you too.’

He set her down on the floor as clothing came flying off, Mona removed her sundress in a swoosh over her head and since she was sans underwear it was easy. She started to help as Luke took off his own clothing. They kissed and caressed and laughed as they undressed him, Luke’s pants were last and Mona grabbed for the zipper and pulled them down quickly. Luke had a feral grin cross his lips as he watched hands once again deftly undress him. He just adored the look on her face, the look of hunger for him, they relieved him of his pants and underwear. He stood before her as she laid back onto the soft cushions. He had a condom in his right hand and he opened it quickly and rolled it over his cock. Her legs opened to welcome him into the sweet cavern it was slick and glistening from earlier. He looked down at her, eyes partially closed and head back.

‘Bella, you look so beautiful. I want to be inside you.’

Mona opened her eyes completely and raised her arm with her hand out, ‘come on Luke, come inside.’

Luke kneeled between those beautiful full thighs, she had the most luscious gams but at this moment he wasn’t thinking about those thighs he was focused on the hidden secrets between it. He pulled her to his throbbing cock.

‘Oh,’ she squeaked in surprise. Luke grinned at her.

They were lined up perfectly, Luke was straining not to thrust deeply and take her roughly. But he couldn’t, so striking, so sweet he was staring at her lovingly when he entered her slowly. Mona’s eyes closed and sighed deeply in relief. Luke was too relieved, she felt so good, so tight just warm and comforting. Luke was trying with all his might to hold back but he knew it wouldn’t be long before he released. Mona was straining and writhing on the seat of the sofa, her fingers clawing at the pillows to find her own release. Then finally they both received it, Luke’s orgasm hit him in a whirl and he screamed out her name as it went through every strain of his body.

Her own was swift and almost unrecognizable, she couldn’t believe she was having another release but it was smooth and stealth almost. Her head went back and her body was taut as she shook violently. She couldn’t get anything out, only a soft long moan that had originated deep in her belly. It was all so mind-blowing.

Luke’s breathing was returning to normal but he hadn’t extracted himself from her sweet spot. He liked it there and felt like he could stay lingering all day. But he saw Mona blink rapidly, her eyes seeming to come back to focus on his face. They both smiled at one another, it was satisfied look of two people who had just indulged in some incredible lovemaking and Mona said so.

‘That was absolutely phenomenal. I didn’t know sex could be like that,’ she told him breathless.

He laid on her as his softening cock slipped out, still with his body on the floor. His head was in her lap. She stroked his hair and Luke felt like he never wanted to leave. With her he felt at home, he realized at that moment he really loved Mona deeply. He peered up to look at her, those beautiful pecan eyes, she was the most breathtaking woman he’d ever seen at that moment and he didn’t want to let her go. She smiled at him and he felt the fireworks, he had to let her know his secret but he wasn’t sure if this was the right time. But no time was like the present he thought.

‘Yes, Luke.’ She looked at him with pure adoration, it startled him a bit he’d never had a woman look at him that way.

‘Let’s take a shower so we can get dressed for dinner.’  He rose from the floor.

‘Okay, that sounds like a great idea. How about Vietnamese?’

He took her hand and helped her up, ‘anything you say bella.’ He kissed her deeply and they strolled to the bathroom the get cleaned up.

They’d had dinner and were walking downtown enjoying the lingering sun of a summer’s evening in the Pacific Northwest. Mona changed into a pair of shorts and linen oversized shirt and sandals. Luke was still in his jeans and polo shirt. It was a balmy evening and beautiful as folks came and went on the streets of Portland. They were holding hands and heading for an ice cream shop Luke had heard about in a food review.

‘Luke, this is just such a wonderful time. I hate for the evening to end.’

‘But it doesn’t need to, I can always come to your place and we can work off this meal.’

Mona smiled coyly at him, he loved that about her that at times she was innocent and other times a total vixen. It was a heady combination.

‘No, I have to be at work tomorrow.’

‘Oh work. Now I’m gonna pout.’

‘Don’t pout, don’t you need to help your dad?’

Luke rolled his eyes and sighed, ‘yes, I do. I’ve been thinking of some ideas to…’

They were suddenly interrupted by a homeless man asking for change. He smelled as if he’d hadn’t bathed in a while, with clothing that was ill-fitting and dirty.

‘Hey, hey man can I get some change. Just a little something.’

Luke moved in front of Mona to protect her if the man decided to try anything.

‘Listen man, I don’t have much but you can have this.’ Luke reached into his pocket to extract a couple of dollar bills and handed them to the man.

He looked at Luke and said ‘thanks man, God bless you.’

Luke noticed he was looking at him strangely as if he was attempting to place his face, ‘hey man, don’t I know you?’

Luke did a slight annoyed grin and told him, ‘no, probably not.’

The man stepped backward and leaned back a little and stared again. Luke decided to just step past him. Mona was peaking around Luke’s large frame to hear the conversation.

‘Yea I do, I know you. Ghost Eyes. Yea that’s you. Ghosty Serrano.’

Luke’s eyes widened and suddenly in absolute horror he recognized who was in front of him. His old gang leader, Danny Fremont, they called him ‘Hot Rod Danny’. He was Ghost Eyes because his eyes were so light.

When Mona heard this she came around, she was confused as to how a homeless man knew Luke.

‘Luke, what’s going on?’

In a panicked voice he told her, ‘nothing bella, absolutely nothing.’

‘Well do you know this man?’

Danny straightened up when he saw Mona, ‘oh excuse me Miss. We’re old friends from way back in the day.’ He put his hand on Luke’s shoulder and Luke shrugged it off.

‘Uh we need to go Mona.’ Luke started to lead her away. Danny followed still talking.

‘Aww ain’t you gonna talk to me Ghosty? I mean I spent all that damn time in jail behind your punk ass.’

Luke was now in all out terror, he had to get Mona out of there before Danny revealed what had gone on years ago with her parents restaurant.

‘Come on tell her how we torched that place over on Martin Luther King, you remember that place. Where them two spooks,’ he noticed Mona again and in an attempt to be contrite changed his words. ‘Sorry miss. Two African Americans wouldn’t give us that money. We light they’re asses up, didn’t we. Remember what was it was called…yea Parnell’s Soul Kitchen. Yea they had some good food but they were damn stupid. I spend 18 years in the joint behind that. Remember.’

Mona looked from the homeless man back to Luke then back to the man who was reminiscing about something still and cackling evilly. But her mind had shut down. He’d been there, he’d actually been there and he’d set fire to her parent’s restaurant. Fire. Parents. Dead. Luke.

Mona started to breath heavily. Her rage was building up, she saw Luke saying something but she couldn’t grasp the words. Her head was swimming, she was feeling like she wanted to faint.

‘Mona…sorry…didn’t mean it. I…you.’

She pulled her arm back and slapped him so hard his face went to the side.

‘You evil, demented, fucking bastard. YOU KILLED MY PARENTS!’ She slapped him again.

Danny looked and started to shuffle away. He was around the corner and gone before Luke could have a chance to wring his neck. He hadn’t done anything, he’d run away that night but he hadn’t stopped it either.

‘I was going to tell you Mona.’

Her eyes became a waterfall of tears, he put his arms around her but she wrenched away violently and hailed the first cab she saw. She was crying uncontrollably and could barely tell the driver where she was headed.

Luke was outside the window screaming, ‘I’m sorry, I’m so sorry Mona. I didn’t mean it, I didn’t mean it!’

Mona couldn’t even turn to look at his face she just heard his faded screams of sorry as the cab took off from the curb. © EugeniaBerg 2013

Love Never Leaves-Chapter 1

Lurie-Terrell0381ad4392Helena came around the corner going way too fast for a rainy day in Seattle.

‘Geez Helena, watch the curves. I’m going to break my neck riding with you.’

‘Well, since you don’t drive you’ll just have to take your chances.’

Helena looked over and smiled at her friend, Peggy, they’d been close a long time. Helena had moved up to the Seattle area to be with her husband he was in the military at the time. Scott had been everything to her, they’d met in high school and were so in love. So while she’d gone off to college at UCLA, he’d joined the army. After she graduated they’d reconnected in San Diego at a high school reunion and the love hadn’t gone anywhere. So before she knew it she was saying yes to his proposal and moving up to Fort Lewis in Washington. It had been difficult being the wife of a soldier but he always did his duty in both. He’d done it when they’d sent him off to fight in Iraq so when First Sergeant Scott McDermott left in late 2005, she didn’t know that would be the last time she’d ever see him. He’d been killed, May 12, 2006. Those were the hardest days of Helena’s life if not for her mom, sister, Renee, and Peggy she would have cracked up. How could he be gone and although she was left with a nice estate because her dutiful husband. She had a rough road to travel, but she’d gotten it together. It still hurt sometimes to think about him but she remembered the good times, the wonderful memories they’d shared as a couple. He’d also left her this 1958 Porsche 356, a car he had lovingly cared for so she did the same.

They pulled into Helena’s driveway. It wasn’t raining hard in Seattle, it never did, but this mist had been coming down for days and it was getting old. She pulled under the carport and the hopped out. Helena was having a few friends over tonight, since Peggy was a chef on a cruise ship she was the one cooking. Peggy was the best friend anyone could ask for, a chunky Asian chick which was a rarity, she had lots of spunk, great sense of humor, a handsome husband and two kids that Helena doted on completely. Helena hadn’t had a chance to make Scott a dad, she was pregnant when he’d been sent to Iraq and the news of his death caused her to have a miscarriage. The grief was almost too much to bear.

‘Come on Helena let’s get in the house.’

It was a Saturday afternoon but since it was raining not much was going on, not that Seattlites stayed home in the rain, they didn’t. It was just quiet. Nothing happening besides the moving truck that had pulled up at the Ellerys old place. Mrs. Ellery has died a few months ago, she’d been such a great neighbor but had passed one night of a stroke. Her son had come from Colorado to settle the estate, the house had been on the market a few months. It was a two story brick Tudor style house. It wasn’t updated so Helena figured that was why it was hard to sell. She lived in a bungalow herself. She was getting bags out of the car being nosy trying to see who the new neighbors were. Peggy had taken her keys and was in the house setting down bags.

‘Hey nose!’

Helena laughed, she was curious she’d always been a curious kid and it had gotten her in all kinds of trouble. If she hadn’t been a graphic designer, she would have been a detective.

‘Oh Peg, I’m just trying to see who my new neighbors are.’

‘Neighbors? Who’s moving in?’

‘Across the street, you know where Kathy Ellery lived. The lady who passed a few months ago.’

‘Yea, I know. Now will you please pass me those bags. I need to get cracking or we will all be eating carrot sticks and celery.’

‘Alright, but I wanted to see. I saw that they put the sold sign up a few weeks ago. I’m just wondering what kind of family lives there now.’

Helena was taking bags to the back porch and Peggy picked them and took them inside. It didn’t matter about the rain, she had on her Hunter rain boots and her hair was cut close in a natural style. One of the things she loved about her natural hair, it could get wet.

Helena saw a black Toyota Tundra drive up. Hmmm she wondered to herself. It had few boxes in the back, a guy jumped out all she could see was the back of his head as he talked to one of the movers. He went up to the door and opened it. Helena was mesmerized she really wanted to see his face, all she had a look of now was black shoulder length hair, very nice hair she thought though. Then he turned and looked straight at her, Helena’s bag slipped from her hands and everything tumbled out onto the driveway. He didn’t look concerned and looked away to continue his business.

Peggy’s head came out of the back door, ‘what is going on?’ She noticed the spilled groceries at Helena’s feet. ‘Aw come on butterfingers. We’re never going to get this show on the road.’

Peggy came out and help to pick up the groceries.

‘Helena, calling Helena!’ She was talking to her as Helena stood staring.

‘Oh I’m sorry, I just saw one if the people moving in across the street.’

‘What do they look like?’

Helena stood in her kitchen for a moment searching for the right expression, ‘gorgeous.’

Peggy turned from the pantry to look at her, ‘really. I hope he’s not married, at least for your sake.

Helena wasn’t even thinking about  him married or having a girlfriend, she wasn’t sure she was ready to date again anyway. She’d tried it a few years ago and it was a complete disaster but she was putting the cart before the horse in this case. The man could be married and if he was what a lucky woman, he was beautiful. Dark black hair, beautiful lightly tanned skin, those gorgeous light eyes, he was mesmerizing. She wondered what his name was, she wondered what the possible wife’s name was.

‘Maybe I should invite him and his significant other,’ because now that she thought about he could be gay, ‘over for the little get together tonight.’

Peggy turned quickly, ‘what? I’m only supposed to be cooking for 8, extra guests I’m not prepared for.’

‘Oh come on Peg, sure you are. I don’t know if they’ll come I just want to be neighborly this isn’t a big deal. How about it? You think that’s a good idea.’

‘Its your party, chocolate goddess.’

Helena started to laugh when she got too bossy Peggy would refer to her as ‘chocolate goddess’ which was true with her deep, dark chocolate skin which she always loved she was quite a goddess. At 5’6″ and 130 lbs more or less, she wasn’t short on male attention but Helena hadn’t really been interested in anyone since her beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed baby had been killed. No one ever made her feel as special as he did but it would be nice to find someone else who would. Her mind wandered back to the new neighbor.

‘Yes, I think I will go over and invite the new neighbor.’

Peggy rolled her eyes and started to chop vegetables for tonight’s meal.

The evening had started out great, although it was cool outside, Helena’s house was warm with laughter and fun. She’d invited some friends over, some old, some new but all great comfort to her.

Peggy and her husband, Errol were there, they were good friends of Helena from her early days in Tacoma. Also her co-worker, Allison and her girlfriend, May had joined them and also her military friend, Rowena, whose husband was also killed in action. Along with Andrea and Billy Dalton good friends from her old neighborhood in Lynnwood. They were laughing, talking and drinking wine, although it was fun. it was at these times she missed Scott the most. Helena had put up pictures of him everywhere in the house but about a year ago she’d taken many of them down when she decided she needed to start anew. She was sitting talking to Rowena when she asked her to join her as she crossed the street to ask the new neighbors over to the party.

‘I just saw him today as he was moving in, I’m not sure if he’s married or not but I thought it would be neighborly to ask him if he’d like to join.’

‘Oh I think that’s sweet, I know we both know how it is to be new to a place.’

She took Rowena’s arm into her own as they crossed, ‘yes I know. Not always easy but good people make it easier.’ She squeezed Rowena’s hand in appreciation and love.

They moved up the path to the new neighbor’s doorway. Helena bounded up the steps. The truck was still in the driveway and the lights were on in the house, so she decided it would be a good idea. She looked back at Rowena with her tall, slim, brown skinned frame egging her on to knock. So she did, she heard someone stirring but it took a moment for them to reach the door. The lock was unbolted and it opened and there he was illuminated by the porch light.

Helena got a good look this time and it was better than she believed, he was beautiful, not too tall about 6 ft, with a slender muscular frame by what she could tell, his hair was pitch black and he had a beard to match he had slight flecks in gray in both his hair and beard. He had keen nose and beautiful green eyes but she noticed they reflected a slight sadness. He wore black framed glasses but took them off as he stood looking at her, waiting.

While she stared intently, she heard Rowena say ‘Hello,’ from behind her.

‘Hello,’ he said kind of stoic and stiff.

Helena finally came out of her reverie, ‘oh hello, I know you’re wondering why we’re here.’

He didn’t answer, he just stood there and crossed his arms. He leaned to the side and started to look completely annoyed with this interruption.

Helena was now wondering if this was a good idea but she pushed ahead, ‘well, I live across the street my name is Helena McDermott. Nice to meet you.’ she put out her hand to shake his but he just looked down at it and back up at her, still annoyed. She returned her hand to her side, now she was getting upset at this guy’s absolute rudeness. She wasn’t sure she wanted anyone like this at her dinner party.

‘Well, I’m having a little dinner party and wanted to know if you’d join us…’ she left the remainder hanging in hopes he’d give her his name but what she got was more abrupt than she anticipated.

He said, ‘I’m sorry, no,’ and suddenly Helena felt a burst of air as the large wooden door slammed in her face.

She was stunned, the man was a menace, what an absolutely rude jackass. She turned to see Rowena at the bottom step wide-eyed with a look of girl, no he didn’t.

She walked down the steps in shock and anger, ‘well, what the hell was that?’ she asked Rowena rhetorically.

‘Girl, I’m not sure but he’s a rude bastard. I wouldn’t ever come over here again.’

‘Oh don’t worry, I will not be coming near here. I wonder what his problem is?’

They stepped in from the chilly night to everyone still talking and laughing. Helena headed to the kitchen where Peggy was getting everything dished up.

‘What happened?’ Peggy asked her and Rowena.

‘He was rude jerk,’ Rowena answered promptly.

Peggy’s brow furrowed in confusion. ‘Rude? What?’ She stopped prepping dishes for a moment to listen.

Helena agreed, ‘he was. I asked him over, I tried to be cordial. I even introduced myself. The man slammed the door in my face.’

Peggy was speechless, which is a lot for her to do.

‘I don’t know his name. Nothing. Barely heard his voice,’ but what she did hear she liked. It was deep and sweet although he was terribly unfriendly.

‘Did you see a wife or kids? Maybe he’s a weirdo keeping his family trapped in the house.’

‘From what I could see, there was no one but him there. I couldn’t see or hear another person.’

‘Maybe Peggy is right,’ Rowena commented, ‘maybe he’s like a serial killer and that’s why he’s so odd.’

Helena smirked, ‘you two. You guys watch too much true crime TV, your imagination is running away with you guys.’ But Helena was now curious to figure out more about him, her instincts told her he wasn’t a killer but something had to be going on for him to be that awful.

‘Maybe he doesn’t like black people,’ Rowena said, ‘it’s happened to me before with neighbors.’

Helena looked at her and shook her head, ‘no one would move to Seattle and hate minorities, that’s what the suburbs are for.’

Peggy started to laugh, ‘okay, enough about your nasty neighbor. You guys grab a dish it’s time to eat.’

But Helena’s mind was still on her neighbor’s abrupt and rude action, she knew she shouldn’t care because she didn’t know him but she did. The sadness in his eyes just made her want to know more. © EugeniaBerg 2013

All authors need inspiration and I certainly do. So how does it go, which came first the chicken or the egg when it comes to what I draft here on Sometimes I Write. So what happens when I write a romance story? Do I think of the idea first? Or do I picture the hero and heroine and form a story around them? Well, first let me tell you I base my hero and heroine off of famous faces, I don’t know if a lot of other authors do this but I really have to be able to picture the characters interacting in my head as I write. So it’s like I’m playing out a movie in my head and I write, I have super vivid and active imagination, always have. So I need to be able to picture characters interacting, so I use references of things I am familiar with. Now I actually do this with the hero more than my heroine because I find most female actresses black or white to be too bony, now that’s a personal opinion so don’t start lecturing me about black women and obesity. My stories are not a commentary on black women’s health and I am not a fat shamer, particularly because I’m a big girl myself. I want my heroine to reflect the diversity of real women although I want my hero to be hotness personified. Yes, I’m objectifying men but I can do this because it’s my story. That is one of the reasons my stories are set in the Pacific Northwest because I’m familiar with it, I love this place and there are a lot of black women and non-black men interracial couples.

So what comes first, the chicken or the egg. Well, I’d say it was the chicken, I need to have my characters envisioned then I can build a story around them. So for my recent stories I’ll tell you who I envision the characters looking like and some folks I’m just dying to build a story around. Now you may wonder do I do this process for my secondary characters, actually sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t it depends how much the secondary character appears in the story. I find it fun to share some of my processes with you guys as readers. I really enjoy sharing my writing drafts, maybe one day I’ll try to actually get some of this stuff published and try to make few dollars from it. But so far it’s just fun to write and share and the more I do this, the better I become as a writer. I certainly hope you see and enjoy it.

I’m currently writing a story but I have to wait a bit before I introduce it on this blog. But here are my hero and heroine. I was excited to build a story around these two.

Yes, Henry Cavill I am positive that I and a bunch of other writers have Henry as inspiration. I can understand the love, he’s the perfect hero. And as the heroine in this story is…

Jurnee Smollett, she’s just so adorable and beautiful and for this particular story she’s the perfect choice.

Now for my newest story, ‘What Happens In Vegas’ for Emerson Alistair I chose…

The gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch, it was particularly the above photo that inspired me. His eyes are so strikingly beautiful.

My heroine for that story, I had to think really intently because I needed a dark skinned beauty for Nydia Frazier. Not easy as you’d think to find. But I did.

The gorgeous Teyonah Parris, because she had to be beautiful and fine. Her body is a great heroine body. I’m loving this story already.

I’m still in the midst of finishing ‘Surviving in Dateland’ my hero, Brock Giles was a guy I’d wanted to have a story about for awhile. I finally did.

Brandon Routh, yes I like them all-American and this child is beautiful and tall and young as I wanted my hero Brock to be.

Now for my heroine, she had to be sexy because she’s older than the hero of Sophie Roberson and I didn’t have this woman in mind but I think she fits.

Halle Berry, yes and short hair Halle, that’s the one I love. I think she fits this heroine perfectly.

Now who I have some folks I’m so hoping to have these folks in some stories. My potential heroes, the ones I’m dying to write a story that includes their image as my hero are…

Chris Evans, yes I know, you’re welcome.

John Stamos and I want him to have that beard in the story, okay I think I already got a storyline for him.

I just can’t look at him enough.

For my hopeful heroines I have…

Dinai Gurira, she’s gorgeous isn’t she, I already got the story. This little blog has given me inspiration. She’s so beautiful.

Nicole Beharie, you’d think I’d pair her with a character that looks like Fassy but umm no. And my last one I have no idea who this woman is but she is screaming she needs to be a heroine in one of my stories.

Yowza! Yes, she will make a great heroine.

So that is my inspiration, maybe if you’re a writer you’ll get inspiration from this too. I’m so glad I did this blog because it’s planted another story is this fertile imagination of mine.
